Using the reference file "Subtotals_1_AOOTest-368" as a reference, this is what is generally expected from this testcase:

1. Left picure: Cell C2, C4's format is currency; C3, C5's format is number; C6's format is percent

2. Picture in middle: Uncheck "Include formats" - Item No.3 is moved from row 4 to row 3, by taking C3's format number while discarding C4's format currency, aka change from "?2.00" to "2". The change of other cells uses the same logic.

3. Right picture: Check "Include formats" - Item No.3 is moved from row 4 to row 3 with C4's format currency. The change of other cells uses the same logic.

In summary: "Include formats" means cell's format will be along with cell's data when sorting; Not "Include formats" means cell's format will inherit new position's cell's format when sorting.

Open sample spreadsheet AOO_Calc_Subtotal_Formatted_YuZhen.ods

File opens successfully in AOO

Select the cell range that you want to calculate subtotals for. (The contents in the first row will be regarded as column labels).  In this instance, click on column C

Column C should now be highlighted

Click 'Data -> Subtotals'.

The 'Subtotals' dialog appears. The current tab page is '1st Group'.

In the 'Group by' combo box select "Data"

"Data" should now be highlighted.

In the 'Calculate subtotals for' box, select "Data"

Should be able to select "Data"

In the 'Use function' box, select the function 'Count'.

Should be able to highlight "Count"

Make sure the check box 'Include format' is unchecked in tab page 'Options'.

Click 'OK' button.

The subtotal result is displayed in hierarchy according to the 1st group option specified.  Please refer "Summary" above, item #2 for expected output.  Essentially, the data will be sorted according to the 'Group by'option specified.The cell format can't be moved with its original value, the new value moved into the cell inherit the format.

Press Ctrl_Z to Undo subtotal.

Worksheet is returned to it's original state.

Repeat step 2-6.

Check the check box 'Include format' in tab page 'Options'.

Click 'OK' button.

The subtotal result is displayed in hierarchy according to the 1st group option specified.  Please refer "Summary" above, item #3 for expected output.  Essentially, the data will be sorted according to the 'Group by'option specified.  The cell format will be moved with its original value.
